Hello Forevercashers, and welcome to Passive Income 101 – Session #12. Today I wanted to talk a little about generating passive income with Youtube.
Now, I am going to start with a bit of an assumption here that you already know what Youtube is all about and that you have uploaded videos to the site before. In order for this to be a valid passive income strategy, however, you will need to regularly upload new videos and keep your subscribers happy.
That being said, if you are currently a user of YouTube and a generator of unique content, make sure you don’t miss the opportunity to make some passive income doing what you love to do.
A simple outline of the system is laid out on this page, but the gist is this: you need to “monetize” your channel and allow Youtube (which is owned by Google) to place Google’s ads on your video in the form of a pop up. Per 1,000 views, you can make anywhere from $7 to $10.
That might not seem like a lot of money, but remember that we are talking about getting paid for something that you are already doing.
The goal of a Youtuber is to provide unique content that people want to watch. So whether your niche is educational, entertainment, self-help…whatever, just make sure that your voice is saying something original that people will want to hear. And if you include links to your product in the video or in the video description you can get paid multiple times for each video.
Should you plan on being rich by monetizing your Youtube videos? No. The passive income you generate should be just one more faucet filling up your financial bathtub.
If there is anyone out there who has already had some success with this and can bring a different perspective to the table, I would love to hear your thoughts. Just leave a comment below.
