When I learned that it’s okay to be different…

The day my company fired 1,000 people in a massive layoff, I learned a valuable lesson: while the company often does not have a choice when letting people go, I realized that I had a choice. Each one of us does. We have a choice between either submitting ourselves to the mercy of an employer who can fire us at any time, or we can start to build something outside our jobs that will make us financially secure forever. For me, it was time to stand up and to start taking charge of my own family without depending forever on a job.

You see, no one else is going to build your future for you. We are all responsible for our actions, and if we want to retire in comfort and help our loved ones feel secure then we are the ones that need to get moving.
I think it is now time for more workers to stop being passively dependent on that company paycheck. More people should take the steps to do what it takes to make sure their families are financially safe
and secure from the hardships of life.

That was the conclusion I came to at that moment. After that day, I took some time to review the things I had been told. I started to do some real soul searching. What I found was that it’s okay to march to the beat of your own drummer and to break out of the system that is designed to keep you passive and poor.
As a matter of fact, I am convinced that this is the only way for most people to ultimately get what they want from life.

So no more excuses – time for results.
